He looks like skin on a bone pile
A cat wouldn’t give him a chance
But When he stretches his long legs out
A fox ain’t got a chance

Enter 2010

Happy New Year mutt lovers! Have ya’ll recovered from the rush and partying? January can be a tough month to face. It’s cold. The  decorative lights that brightened the barren landacape are stowed in the attic. The food…starting with Halloween’s sugar fest right on through the New Year’s Day feast, has settled into extra layers of [...]

Thrifty Mutters

The new year is approaching and even though most of us tightened our holiday gift-giving budget, we’re feeling a pinch in our wallets. So this seemed like a good time to pass on some tricks I’ve learned from years of thrifty dog keeping.
Preserving  dogbeds: Even with washable covers, I replace dogbeds every couple years because [...]

Old Lutz Schoolhouse Revives for the Season

The historic Lutz schoolhouse, built in the 1920’s, is a community gathering place.  Since October, dedicated volunteers have been decorating the school for Christmas.  Last weekend, Scott and I stopped by to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

This sign announced an early meal with the jolly man in red. We just missed him, darn it! (I had my [...]

I’d like to thank the people who tune in [...]

Cheers to Rescuers

Hurray for a successful animal adoption event last weekend at the Florida State fairgrounds!  According to Tampa Pets.org’s Facebook page, 297 dogs, 106 cats, and 5 bunnies were adopted. That’s over 400 critters removed from overburdened  shelters. Now, let’s hope those pets have found forever homes.
I’m always happy to hear about new adoptions but a small part [...]
